STEVE MUYS

Senior Manager

Steve grew up in Copetown, Ontario (near Hamilton) and started in the golf industry while in high school, working at Hamilton Golf & Country Club. In 1992 Steve accepted a position at Heron Point as Golf Course Mechanic and after a year was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. Steve received his formal industry training from the University of Guelph where he graduated in 1994. In 1998 he moved to Diamond Back Golf Club in Richmond Hill as Golf Course Superintendent. While there, the club hosted two successful CPGA events. Steve moved to Twenty Valley in 2000 and over his years here has spearheaded many improvements to the club.

 

Steve continues to enjoy every day he spends at the course and can often be seen accompanied by his dog, Wicket who also enjoys greeting members, guests and has been made an honourary member of the maintenance team. Steve currently resides in Grimsby with his wife and two daughters.

RON KENESKY

CPGA Head Professional

Ron began his golf career at the age of 14 when he worked in the back shop at Southbrook Golf and Country Club in Binbrook, Ontario. By age 17, Ron was working the Pro Shop counter at Southbrook and during that time he would win five consecutive Men’s Club Championships at Southbrook; He turned professional joining the CPGA in 1997 and moved to Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington in 1998 spending the next 14 golf seasons there, completing his CPGA apprenticeship. He became a Class ‘A’ Professional in the PGA of Canada in 2007.

 

A well respected player, Ron won the 2010 Ontario PGA Championship at Barrie Country Club firing rounds of 65-69 to win by two shots. He also won the Great Lakes Tour Championship for the Moe Norman Cup in 2007 and finished the 2012 season as the 32nd ranked player in the PGA of Canada National Player Rankings.

 

A graduate of Mohawk College’s Business Administration program, Ron is a very established golf instructor with many years teaching experience. His students range in ability from beginner through to golf professionals.
